Vince Wilfork is the newest member of the Patriots Hall of Fame. The five-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion was voted in by fans.
Logan Mankins and Mike Vrabel were the other two eligible ex-Patriots.
Wilfork, whom the Patriots selected at No. 32 overall in the 2004 NFL Draft, enjoyed a stellar career in Foxborough. In addition to being a force at nose tackle, Wilfork was a beloved figure in the community.
The Patriots played in 21 playoff games, six AFC Championship Games and four Super Bowls with Wilfork in the middle. Besides Tom Brady, he’s the only Patriots player who spanned both winds of the dynasty, winning Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005 and Super Bowl XLIX in 2015.
Wilfork is the ninth member of the 2004 team to earn induction, joining Richard Seymour, Rodney Harrison, Matt Light, Willie McGinest, Kevin Faulk, Ty Law, Tedy Bruschi and Troy Brown.
“It’s my pleasure to announce Vince Wilfork as our 2022 Patriots Hall of Fame selection,” said Robert Kraft in a statement. “For more than a decade, Vince was a dominant defender in the trenches and anchored some of the best defenses in franchise history. His contributions on the field propelled the Patriots to four Super Bowl appearances during his 11-year career. He was a big man with an even bigger personality and a huge heart. He quickly became a fan favorite in New England. I look forward to presenting him his Patriots Hall of Fame jacket.”
Wilfork is the 32nd inductee into the Patriots Hall of Fame.
