As predicted, Steelers quarterback Mitchell Trubisky tried to give the Patriots an early leg up in the first quarter of Sunday's game. Mack Wilson and Jalen Mills obliged.
Wilson nearly intercepted an ill-advised throw over the middle by Trubisky, kicking it up into the waiting arms of Mills for the Patriots' first interception of 2022.
Brought over from the Cleveland Browns for his speed and coverage ability, Wilson got the start on Sunday over Raekwon McMillan and immediately paid dividends.
Watch the play below:
Unfortunately, the Patriots handed the ball right back as Mac Jones threw a rough interception down the field to DeVante Parker. The score remained 3-0 going into the second quarter.
