The Patriots had plenty to celebrate on Sunday, and not just their 22-17 win over the Jets in the Meadowlands.
There were also some personal milestones to recognize, which the Patriots did in the locker room after the game.
Longtime special teams ace Matthew Slater recently moved into second place on the Patriots' all-time games played list, passing Bruce Armstrong. With 214 games played since being drafted in 2008, Slater now trails only Tom Brady (285).
In a video shared by the Patriots' official team Twitter account, coach Bill Belichick is shown honoring Slater in front of the team and giving him a game ball.
And of course, Belichick reached a milestone of his own on Sunday. With his 325th career win in the regular season and postseason combined, Belichick moved ahead of George Halas for second place on the all-time coaching wins list. He is now 22 behind Don Shula for first.
Patriots owner Robert Kraft was the one to honor Belichick and give him a game ball, which was met with a raucous ovation from Patriots players and Devin McCourty pouring some sort of drink we can't quite identify on Belichick's head.
