Less than 12 hours after the Patriots selected Alabama quarterback Mac Jones with the No. 15 overall pick, the Patriots released video from the war room as the pick was being made.
Prior to officially making the selection, Bill Belichick asked Dave Ziegler, Matt Groh and Eliot Wolf if they were on board with it. In his pre-draft press conference, the coach noted those three led the way with the entire process.
Owner Robert Kraft also spoke to Jones via phone.
"They tell me your a phenomenal person," he said. "... All of New England is really happy with this pick."
