The Patriots closed the 2020 season in style with a 28-14 win over the Jets on Sunday to finish with a 7-9 record.

While the season certainly did not go the way anyone had hoped, attitude and effort were never an issue.

Courtesy of Patriots.com, here's what Bill Belichick and Matthew Slater said in the locker room after the game.

Belichick: “Proud to coach this group. Obviously, wish we could have done more. I appreciate how hard you guys have worked and I appreciate you going out there [doing what you] did today. Slate, the floor is yours.”

Slater: “Football is a microcosm of life. It’s struggle. It’s triumph. It’s defeat. That’s life. And if we haven’t learned anything else, I hope we’ve learned that this year. There’s too many lessons, too rich, that are going to make all of us better on the other side. But, we can’t miss them. It’s up to us not to miss them. Alright? Love you guys, man.”
