FOXBOROUGH -- Bill Belichick and the Patriots will see a familiar face across the field Sunday with Stephon Gilmore now on the Panthers following being traded last month.

Gilmore, who was on PUP until a few weeks ago, made his debut last week against Atlanta and recorded an interception late in the game.

When asked about him Wednesday, Belichick didn't have much to say.

“Again, we talk about it every week -- each week there’s players that we know that we’ve had or they’ve been here, whether it is," he said. "That type of situation comes up every week.”

Belichick noted he only played roughly 20 snaps against Atlanta last week.

“Like I said, I think they played him about 20 plays," he said. "Most of them were on third down and passing situations. He played throughout the game. Played inside, some outside.”

And when asked about what Gilmore meant to the Patriots over the years, the coach kept it short.

“I think we’ve talked about Steph, a lot," he said. "The comments I made when he left here, that’s the way I feel. I have a ton of respect for him."

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Sunday in Carolina.
