6 rings & football things: should quarterbacks throw at the nfl combine?
It was the quarterbacks turn to speak at the NFL Combine on Friday morning with Caleb Wiliams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels (among others) taking questions at the podium from a sea of reporters in Indianapolis.
Given the Thursday reporting from MassLive that the Patriots are "planning to draft a quarterback with the No. 3 pick, here's what the consensus top three signal callers said about their meetings with the New England and potentially playing in Foxborough:
Caleb Williams, USC
"The Patriots were cool. The room wasn't as packed, they had just a few guys here. We talked mainly about ball. It was a good impression. They were asking me questions about my life, about ball, tested me, and things like that. All of the meetings were good, and they were all kinda in the same ball park. Everybody, you know, they don't really get to see you or test your mentals, so. This quick 10, 20 minutes that they have that's what they're mainly doing, trying to get out of you."
Drake Maye, North Carolina
"Yeah, I was really impressed with them. You know they have Coach Mayo, I first congratulated him too. You know anytime [you become] a new head coach it's a pretty cool experience so just being in there and-- New England's obviously a great sports town and... so I thought it went well. I think New England's a great spot."
Jayden Daniels, LSU
"It would be dope. Obviously, growing up and seeing what Tom Brady did, six Super Bowls, that's tough to live up to. But that'd be dope to come in there, [after] seeing the success they've had, and help them get back on track."
