Rob Gronkowski is backtracking.
On ESPN2's simulcast of Monday Night Football with the Manning brothers this week, the Tampa Bay tight end said he doesn't watch any film.
Gronkowski was asked if he was serious when speaking to reporters Wednesday and he said it isn't exactly true.
“I actually watch tons of film — an overload of film," he said to reporters. "I would probably blame [PR head Nelson Luis] over there. He asked me eight times to go on the show. I told him it’s not a good idea to put me on the show with the Manning’s. They always get me joking around. They always get me in that type of silly atmosphere, and that’s what happened. Coach [Bruce Arians] threatened me now that I don’t get my vet day anymore now because I don’t watch film.
“Trust me, I watch so much film that my girlfriend gets mad at me. She freaking throws [expletive] at me sometimes because I’m watching so much film.”
Gronkowski is off to a great start this season with 129 receiving yards and four touchdowns in two games.
