For the last several years, NBC Sports' Chris Simms has ranked the quarterbacks in the NFL over the summer, which usually generates a good deal of conversation.
The list was finalized this week and had Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers, Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson in the top five.
As for the Patriots, Cam Newton came in at No. 20, while rookie Mac Jones was No. 30. Newton ranked just ahead of Jimmy Garoppolo, Ben Roethlisberger and Ryan Fitzpatrick. Meanwhile, Jones was the second rookie on the list, trailing Zach Wilson (No. 27). Kellen Mond (No. 37), Trey Lance (No. 38) and Justin Fields (No. 39) were the other rookies behind Jones.
Tom Brady came in at No. 10, right behind Dak Prescott and just ahead of Justin Herbert.
