Tuesday afternoon N'Keal Harry's agent released a statement to NFL Network where he said he's formally requested a trade for his client.

The obvious question is why would a team trade for a player who hasn't produced in the NFL in his first two seasons and there's a chance he could be cut at the end of training camp.

Appearing on The Greg Hill Show Wednesday, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk gave another reason why trading Harry will be tough.

“The problem is this: if you trade for him, you have to take on his contract," he said. "And even though he wasn’t a high first-round pick, he’s got a salary obligation if you take on that deal that is maybe more than a guy you could pick up off the street. I think that’s really the challenge, getting someone to take on his pay over the next two years.

“And you have to see something there that you can build on, too. Who is wrong in this one? Is Harry wrong about his skills and abilities, or are the Patriots wrong with how they have used him and developed him or not developed him? I think that first-round contract would be the biggest impediment to getting someone to do a deal and that would push the compensation lower because if you do the trade you are looking at stepping into the Patriots’ shoes.”

Harry has cap hits of $2.7 million this year and $3.2 million next year.
