This week the crew is joined by Bet QL’s Lucy Burdge to make our picks for Week 9 of the NFL season.
Lucy is on NE -3.5 @ CAR, while I am electing to bet the under of 41.0.
People are underrating just how good the Panthers’ defense is. They’re complete at all levels, possibly the first truly complete defense the Patriots have had to play this season. It’ll be a good litmus test for Mac Jones under pressure, which he’s excelled under, and for the Patriots’ pass catchers to get open against one of the best coverage units in the NFL.
This pick is more based on the Patriots’ defense vs the Panthers’ offense than anything else. Belichick has always had Sam Darnold’s number, but Darnold may not even play in this game. Does PJ Walker scare anyone? Regardless of how Jones and the New England offense performs, I don’t see the Panthers putting up much of a fight offensively.
