Jimmy Garoppolo has been a hot topic in New England the last few days following the 49ers' blockbuster trade to move up to No. 3 overall in the NFL Draft.
The expectation is they will select a quarterback, which could lead to potentially trading the veteran -- although the organization denies that will be the case.
Naturally, the Patriots have come up a bunch in those discussions and speaking on The Greg Hill Show Monday, Jermaine Wiggins revealed how Garoppolo was viewed by some during his prior time with the organization.
“My sources here tell me, and I didn’t really want to say this, but they used to look at Jimmy G. a little sideways," Wiggins said. "Like, he was kind of a little bit Mr. Glass. And I am not talking about the Sam Jackson character, where they were like, ‘Can’t really depend on him. Can’t stay on the field.’”
He added: “Between the lines they looked at him like, ‘Can we really count on this dude?'"
This would imply that players were the ones who felt this way.
Due to a sprained AC joint, Garoppolo missed Weeks 3 and 4 of the 2016 season in which Tom Brady was suspended the first four games. And now with San Francisco, Garoppolo has missed 23 games due to injury over the last three seasons.
