Former Red Sox pitcher Pat Light announces his retirement on Bradfo Sho

It wasn't official until it was official.

Monday it became official.

Appearing once again on the Bradfo Sho podcast with Rob Bradford, former Red Sox pitcher Pat Light used the moment to announce that he was retiring from the game of baseball.

The 29-year-old was a first-round pick of the Red Sox in the 2012 MLB Draft (37th overall), going on to pitch in two games for the organization. While he did allow eight runs in his 2 2/3 innings, there was one significant moment along the way -- a strikeout of Mike Trout.

Light, who also threw in 15 games for the Twins, last pitched professionally during the 2018 season for Seattle's Triple-A team in Tacoma.

The New Jersey native owns Green Rock Tap & Grill in Hoboken while also conducting a regular podcast, "Sorry, We're Closed," (named in honor of his kindred spirit Sam Malone of the TV series "Cheers".)
