It's becoming crazy what Trevor Story is doing

CHICAGO - The tale of Trevor Story living life a member of the Red Sox has been a crazy one. Thursday night in the Sox' 16-7 win over the White Sox, it only got wilder.

Story offered his latest punctuation to one of the more dramatic turnarounds in recent memory, homering for the eighth time in the last 10 games. And wasn't just his ninth homer of the season that left a mark.

The second baseman's four RBI put him at 21 for the past seven games, the most of any Red Sox player over such a span since 1920 (when RBIs were initially kept track of. It is a feat not accomplished in Major League Baseball since Edwin Encarnacion managed it in 2015 (per Elias).

Remember, it was May 5 when Story was being booed by the Fenway Park crowd, with his batting average sitting at .196 on May 15, carrying an OPS of .562. Now, he is hitting .232 with a .776 OPS. (His OPS over the recent 10-game span is 1.387.)

"Times like this are rare,” Story told reporters. "[It’s] a great feeling. I’m trying to just live in the moment and have good at-bats when I can."
