Red Sox 2023 schedule: Mookie Betts makes his return to Fenway

The 2023 Red Sox schedule is out, and one date jumps off the page: Aug. 25.

That particular day will be the first time Mookie Betts will be returning to Fenway Park since he was traded in 2020, with the Dodgers coming in for a three-game set.

The schedule marks the first time the Red Sox (and all Major League Baseball clubs) will face all of the other 29 teams at least once since interleague was introduced in 1997.

The Sox will kick off their season at Fenway Park for a fourth straight year, taking on the Orioles on March 30 before hosting the Pirates in a three-gamer.

Also of note, the Red Sox will travel to San Francisco's Oracle Park for the first time since 2016 July 28-30. Other National League parks the Sox will be visiting include Milwaukee's American Family Field (April 21-23), Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park (May 5-7), Atlanta's Truist Park (May 9-10), San Diego's Petco Park (May 19-21), Arizona's Chase Field (May 26-28), Wrigley Field against the Cubs (July 14-16) and Nationals Park in Washington (Aug. 15-17)

Besides the Dodgers and Pirates, the other NL teams heading to Fenway include St. Louis (May 12-14), Cincinnati (May 30-June 1), Colorado (June 12-14), the Marlins (June 27-29), the Mets (July 21-23), and Atlanta (July 25-26).

The Red Sox will finish off their season with a three-game series at Camden Yards (Sept. 28-Oct. 1). The Patriots Day game will be against the Angels (Apri 17).
