The Red Sox continue to have issues with COVID-19.
Prior to Friday's game against Cleveland, the Red Sox placed outfielder Jarren Duran on the COVID-19 related injured list. Duran was originally in the lineup, but was a late scratch after not feeling well.
Catcher Connor Wong has been recalled to take his place on the roster.
The Red Sox have had seven players and nine members of the traveling party test positive over the last week or so.
“I hate putting timetables. I have a pretty good idea, kind of,” manager Alex Cora said to reporters before the game on when players might return. “Hopefully [Kike Hernandez] in the beginning of next week, Christian [Arroyo] in the middle of next week and Xander [Bogaerts] at the end of next week. That’s where we’re at right now. But things might change.”
Boston will take on Cleveland this week at Fenway Park.
