It was pretty big news when Nick Yorke got the call to Single-A Greenville last week. At just 19 years old, living life in his first professional season, it was a fairly significant jump.
Saturday night, Yorke offered another example of why the Red Sox felt comfortable in making just a move.
The Red Sox first pick in the 2020 MLB Draft has proved to be one of the stars of the organization's minor-league system this year. Between Salem and Greenville, Yorke has hit .327 with a .920 OPS and 11 homers.
The middle infielder has only amped up the attention during his time with the Drive, managing seven hits in 18 at-bats (.389) with a 1.032 OPS.
