The Dodgers signing of reliever Tommy Kahnle (as was first reported by Ken Rosenthal) isn't going to turn Major League Baseball's slow offseason upside down, but it did reveal the Red Sox exploring all options.
Kahnle, who had Tommy John surgery in August, was evidently a target of the Red Sox, who were reportedly a finalist for the 31-year-old's services. (A development Robert Murray was first to report.)
Kahnle's deal with the Dodgers is primarily based on what he will do after the 2021 season.
The right-hander appeared in 72 games for the Yankees in 2019, posting a 3.67 ERA.
