The Red Sox are calling up outfielder Jarren Duran, according to a source. Joe McDonald of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette was the first to report the news.
Duran, widely considered one of the Red Sox' top two or three prospects, could now make his Major League debut in New York against the Yankees, as Boston faces them in a four-game series beginning Thursday night.
The 24-year-old centerfielder has been on fire for Triple-A Worcester this season, hitting .270 with a .926 OPS, 15 home runs, 32 RBIs, 37 runs scored and 12 steals.
The Red Sox drafted Duran in the seventh round in 2018 out of Cal State Long Beach.
