The world of sports turned upside-down on Tuesday afternoon upon hearing the upsetting news that legendary golfer Tiger Woods had been involved in a serious car crash, resulting in leg injuries and his subsequent hospitalization.
Woods, 45, is currently in surgery, according to his agent Mark Steinberg. On Monday, Woods had been golfing with friends and fellow celebrities Dwyane Wade and David Spade at Rolling Hills Country Club and was reportedly in "good spirits" (via Daniel Rapaport of Golf Digest). Fans were shocked to learn of his potentially serious injuries the very next day.
However, instead of sitting back in fear and apprehension, several prominent athletes took to Twitter to wish Woods good health and a speedy recovery following the news. Other names in golf, including fellow PGA player Justin Thomas, were among those figures.
Current and former athletes across a wide range of sports outside of golf, including Lindsey Vonn, Woods' former girlfriend, reacted to the news with thoughts and prayers.
Praying for @TigerWoods 🙏🏾

Media personalities, executives and other prominent figures also reacted to the news.
Tiger Woods is my favorite athlete of all time. He's the athlete I talked the most about with my dad. My mom loves to talk about Tiger. Derrick Thomas is the greatest athlete I was close friends with. I hope Tiger is OK. Damn.
