According to the LA County Sheriffs Department, Tiger Woods was injured in a single-car rollover crash Tuesday morning on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Polos Verdes.
Woods was the driver and sole occupant. The statement says the "jaws of life" were needed to free him and then he was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
[UPDATE 5 p.m.]: It's been reported the "jaws of life" were not needed and he was extricated through the windshield.
"Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries. He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support," his agent, Mark Steinberg, told Golf Digest.
The 45-year-old was in town as he is the host of the Genesis Invitational that was held over the weekend at Riviera Country Club. He wasn't able to play due to another back surgery.
