Tom Brady is more likely to make the Super Bowl than Russell Westbrook is to score a basket

Tom Brady has appeared in more Super Bowls than any quarterback who's ever played the game. He's been seven times in 16 years, which means the Patriots have reached the Super Bowl in 44 percent of the seasons he's played.

That's an incredible stat, especially considering he's played in the big game more times than all but five teams in the league. Brady also has 25 career playoff wins –– more than 28 other teams. (His five Super Bowl wins give him more championship victories than 28 other clubs as well.)

But Brady's dominance is perhaps best illustrated when compared to Thunder guard Russell Westbrook's shooting percentage (yes, you read that right). Westbrook, one of the premier scorers in the NBA, is a career 43 percent shooter from the field. That means Brady is more likely to make the Super Bowl than Westbrook is to score a basket.

Has your jaw dropped to the floor yet?

According to the Las Vegas oddsmakers, the Patriots are favored to repeat as Super Bowl champions this season. If the prediction holds true, that means Brady will play in eight Super Bowls over 17 years, winning six of them. With six Super Bowl titles in 17 years, Brady's winning percentage would stand at 35 percent, roughly putting it on par with Marcus Smart's career field goal percentage of 35.8.

It looks like Smart has some incentive to improve his offensive game this season.
