The chaotic scene at U.S. Capitol on Wednesday spilled over into the sports world, forcing the postponement of a college basketball game between UMass and George Washington.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser issued a 6 p.m. ET curfew after supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building in protest of the results of the presidential election where members of Congress gathered to certify President-elect Joe Biden.

George Washington announced the postponement of their game moments later, which was scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m.

The Atlantic 10 plans to reschedule the game later this season as UMass planned to return to Massachusetts on Wednesday night.

The A-10 game so far is the only sporting event that appears to have been affected by the mayhem in D.C.

The Washington Wizards were scheduled to play the Philadelphia 76ers in Philadelphia Wednesday night.
