The Yankees failed to finish off a sweep down in Philadelphia, losing 3-0 to the Phillies on Wednesday night. The Bombers will enjoy a day off before they welcome the first-place Red Sox to town for a highly anticipated three-game series.
As for the story surrounding the Yanks' NL counterpart, the Mets blew a 3-0 lead to the Pirates, losing 5-3. Mickey Callaway & Co. have now lost eight of their last nine, so Boomer & Gio found themselves talking about rebuilding. Inevitably, the Booms brought up his beloved Blueshirts, as the Rangers themselves are knee-deep into a rebuild of their own (but no really one cares).
