
On Thursday morning, the Islanders received another addition to their staff. Lane Lambert came on board as the new assistant coach under Barry Trotz.

Trotz was hired on June 21st, and mentioned Lane Lambert as a possibility for this position early on. The 53-year-old has worked with Trotz for many years, during his tenure in both Washington and Nashville.
Lambert is also an ex-NHL player, having played between Quebec, New York, and Detroit. The former right winger played 283 games for 58 goals and 66 assists.
