Jeff McNeil has left Thursday's game due to abdominal tightness, according to the SNY broadcast.
The Mets have labeled his early departure as "precautionary."
After singling in the top of the third inning, McNeil was thrown out at second on a fielder's choice. The 27-year-old spent a lot of time talking with Mickey Callaway and the team's trainers before being removed from the game.
Mets manager Mickey Callaway told WFAN's Mike Francesa after the game that he's not too concerned about McNeil.
"We're going to evaluate him in the morning and see if he's available for us tomorrow night," he said.
McNeil has been New York's best hitter this season by a large margin.
Through 40 games and 168 at-bats, the infielder/outfielder is hitting .352/.440/.483 with two home runs, 11 doubles and 14 RBI.
McNeil joined WFAN Thursday morning, telling "Joe & Evan" that "I expect myself to hit for a high average all the time."
An extended absence from the lineup for McNeil would be a big blow to the Mets' offense.
