The Jets have plenty of cap space this offseason to upgrade their roster. One position they will be upgrading will be linebacker. That isn't great news for their 2016 first-round draft pick, Darron Lee.

According to the Daily News, the Jets are reportedly hoping to move on from Lee, who ended the 2018 season suspended four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The 24-year-old linebacker has been disappointing in his three seasons with Gang Green.

Lee is scheduled to make $1.8 million in 2019, which is the final year of his rookie deal. The Jets have less than two months to decide whether they want to pick up his 2020 fifth-year option, which is projected to be $10 million.

Lee had just 43 solo tackles and the first three interceptions of his career in 2018 in 12 games. He has 152 solo tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles in his three seasons with the Jets.

There is plenty of talent available at linebacker this offseason that the Jets are expected to be in the running for. A few of those names include Anthony Barr, K.J. Wright and C.J. Mosley.
