New York (WFAN) - The Mets continue to fill their front office openings as they made another addition Wednesday. They hired Red Sox executive and former Royals GM Allard Baird as their new VP of player development and scouting, according to the NY Post.

The move comes one day after the Mets hired Adam Guttridge as assistant GM of systematic development.

Baird was GM of the Royals from 2000 until he was fired in 2006. He then joined the Red Sox after that as an assistant to the GM before being named VP and director of professional scouting.
