Tom Seaver helped the New York Mets take home the franchise's first World Series championship back in 1969. Fifty years later, the Hall of Fame pitcher is set to solidify yet another place in the team's history.
The Mets will officially change the address of Citi Field to 41 Seaver Way in a ceremony honoring the legendary pitcher Thursday morning, the team announced on Twitter.
Mets COO Jeff Wilpon, Jerry Koosman, Cleon Jones, Ron Swoboda along with other dignitaries will be in attendance for the ceremony that will begin at 11am.

Seaver retired from public life earlier this year after being diagnosed with dimentia. He continues to work on his vineyard at his California home.
Thursday's ceremony will kick off a weekend of festivities celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the 1969 World Series team.
A three-time Cy Young Award winner, Seaver played 20 seasons in the major leagues (1967-86), the first 11½ with the Mets. He was a member of the 1969 team as well as the 1973 National League pennant team. Seaver also pitched for the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox.
Seaver was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992.
