NEW YORK (WFAN) - The Mets have tendered a contract to catcher Travis d'Arnaud, but have chosen not to tender one to Wilmer Flores, according to WFAN's Jon Heyman.
D'Arnaud appeared in just four games for the Mets in 2018, going 3-for-15 with one home run and 3 RBI, before being placed on the disabled list with a partial tear of the UCL in his right elbow. The catcher would undergo Tommy John surgery on his elbow soon after.

The 29-year-old is expected to receive a slight raise from the $3.5 million he made last season. New York will be able to cut d'Arnaud in the spring and only be on the hook for a small portion of the money owed to the catcher, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
The Mets have remained hopeful that d'Arnaud will be back to full strength by Opening Day, although that is not guaranteed. The catcher has averaged just 73 games per season since his first full year in the majors in 2014.
Flores hit just .267/.319/.417 with 11 home runs and 51 RBI in 126 games this past season.
The utility infielder signed with the organization as an international free agent in 2007, and has spent parts of the last six seasons with the Mets. Flores' popularity with the team's fanbase exploded in 2015 when he was visibly emotional on the field during a game upon hearing he was included in a trade with the Brewers.
