Looking ahead to the 2020 college football season, it would normally be quite difficult to predict which bowl game each team will be playing in come postseason time.

That is all correct, except for the Army Black Knights that is.

The Black Knights reached an agreement Thursday to play in the Walk On's Independence Bowl in Shreveport, Louisiana if they qualify for the postseason (six or more wins) in 2020, 2022 and 2024.

"Army football is ecstatic to be partnering with our friends at the Independence Bowl for the next bowl cycle," Army Athletics Director Mike Buddie said in a statement. "Having played in Shreveport previously, we are well aware of how the community embraces this bowl and our cadet-athletes will thoroughly enjoy the experience."

The Black Knights don't have a primary tie-in with a postseason bowl game this year. Army is a backup, though, for teams from the Mid-American Conference and Sun Belt in the Camellia Bowl.

Although the bowl started back in 1976, the Black Knights have only played in it once, falling to the Auburn Tigers 32-29 in 1996.

Army is 3-4 this season, dropping three in a row, going into this weekend’s matchup versus San Jose State.
