The Mets have signed veteran outfielder Austin Jackson, two days after the team announced Yoenis Cespedes will undergo season-ending surgery.
WFAN baseball insider Jon Heyman was the first to report on the signing Friday morning. Jackson was released by the Texas Rangers earlier this month after he was acquired in a trade with the San Francisco Giants.
