Islanders center Mathew Barzal on Friday night ended Conor McDavid's three-year reign as the NHL's fastest skater.
Participating in the skills competition as part of All-Star Weekend at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Barzal completed his loop in 13.175 seconds, edging McDavid, the Edmonton Oilers' star center, who had a time of 13.215.

Barzal is the first Islander to win the fastest skater competition since Michael Grabner did it in 2011.
