The Knicks and Kings are reportedly discussing a trade that would send center Enes Kanter to Sacramento in exchange for power forward Zach Randolph.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday on the talks involving the two expiring contracts, adding that a deal is not close. The Kings are looking to dump additional expiring contracts, which could require a third team to become involved, Wojnarowski reported.

Kanter, 26, has grown upset with his diminished playing time in recent weeks, as the Knicks have turned their attention to developing their younger players. Kanter, however, stopped short of requesting a trade during a recent meeting with general manager Scott Perry.

But teams have reportedly inquired about Kanter, and the Knicks have listened.

In 41 games this season, Kanter has averaged 14.4 points and 11.0 rebounds.

Kanter is earning $18.6 million in the final year of his contract, while Randolph, who has not played in any games this season, is making $11.7 million. It's unclear what else the Knicks might be looking for in the trade.

Randolph, 37, averaged 14.5 points and 6.7 rebounds over 59 games last season. The two-time All-Star played for the Knicks during the 2007-08 season and briefly during the 2008-09 season before being traded to the Clippers.
