Thursday was a Golden day for the Giants.
On the same day that the team landed free agent wide receiver Golden Tate, they also added pass rusher Markus Golden on a one-year deal, according to multiple reports.
Golden, who turned 28 Wednesday, spent the first four years of his career with the Arizona Cardinals. He played in 11 games (all starts) last season and had 30 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks. In 2016, he had 12 1/2 sacks. He tore the ACL in his right knee early in the 2017 season and has been trying to regain his old form since.

In New York, Golden will be reunited with defensive coordinator James Bettcher, who led Arizona's defense the first three years of Golden's career.
Pass rush has been one of the Giants' biggest needs this offseason. They tied for the second-fewest sacks in the NFL last season with 30 and then last week traded their sack leader, Olivier Vernon (seven sacks) to the Cleveland Browns.
