The Rangers have traded forward Vladislav Namestnikov to the Ottawa Senators.
Namestnikov's agent, Dan Milstein, revealed Monday night that his client was dealt to the Senators, saying they're "excited for the opportunity" that waits in Ottawa. In return, the Rangers will reportedly receive a 2021 fourth round pick and defenseman Nick Ebert from Ottawa in exchange for the Russian-born forward, according to TSN's Darren Dreger. The Rangers later confirmed the deal.

The 26-year-old carried lofty expectations when he first arrived at Madison Square Garden. At the 2018 NHL trade deadline, Namestnikov was a key piece Tampa Bay sent to the Rangers in order to acquire defenseman Ryan McDonagh and J.T. Miller. However, he was unable to entirely flourish with the Rangers.
He finished his Rangers tenure with 35 points in 99 games. The Rangers will also retain $750,000 of his current contract. Namestnikov is set to become an unrestricted free agent following the season and carries an annual value of $4 million.
Ebert, 25, was slated to begin the season with the Belleville Senators — Ottawa's AHL affiliate. He initially signed a one-year, two-way deal during the offseason but has yet to crack an NHL roster after he was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NHL Draft.
