FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (WFAN) -- The Jets have apparently entered the Ndamukong Suh sweepstakes.

The five-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle told Yahoo Sports' Jordan Schultz that Gang Green has emerged as a "serious contender" to sign him. The free agent also listed the Titans, Rams and Saints as possibilities.

The 6-foot-4, 305-pound Suh has yet to visit Florham Park, but the Jets have already discussed their plans for him should he sign with them, Schultz reported.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Friday that the Jets have the biggest offer on the table for the former Lion and Dolphin. Even after being aggressive in free agency over the past two weeks, the Jets still sit more than $30 million under the salary cap.

The Miami Dolphins released Suh earlier this month in a cost-cutting move. Suh was set to earn $17 million this season.

The second overall pick in the 2010 draft, Suh has 420 tackles and 51 1/2 sacks in his eight-year career. Last season, he registered 48 tackles and 4 1/2 sacks.

A three-time All-Pro, Suh is an elite talent, but he's also infamous for his fine-worthy personal fouls, which include stomping on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers' arm and kicking ex-Texans QB Matt Schaub in the groin.

The Jets' defensive line was considered the strength of the team a couple of years ago, but the team has since traded away Sheldon Richardson and released Muhammad Wilkerson, leaving Leonard Williams as its only true standout.

Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan has been busy trying to improve a defense that ranked 25th in the league last season. His most high-profile defensive free-agent signings to date are former Rams cornerback Trumaine Johnson and ex-Titans inside linebacker Avery Williamson.

Meanwhile Friday, the Jets agreed to terms with former Cardinals and Falcons wideout/kick returner Andre Roberts.

Once a key receiver for Arizona, Roberts, 30, was limited mostly to return duties with Atlanta last season. He had just one catch for 12 yards.

His best season came in 2012 with the Cardinals, when he had 64 receptions for 759 yards with five touchdowns.

Roberts is the second receiver the Jets have added in the past 24 hours. On Thursday night, they reached a deal with former Browns and Redskins wideout Terrelle Pryor.
