Report: Jets Willing To Trade WR Robby Anderson

It would be an understatement to say that the Jets season hasn't gone according to plan.

New York is 1-5 and just suffered an ugly 33-0 loss at the hands of the hated Patriots. Sam Darnold missed significant time due to mono, and the defeat to the Bill Belichick and company also featured the worst performance of his young career. Adam Gase and his staff have taken flack for everything from poor offensive play calling to the bizarre situation with Kelechi Osemele.

It's looking like another lost season for the Jets, and now they may be deciding to sell off some of their assets while they still can. According to a report from Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, the Jets are willing to trade Robby Anderson "for the right price."

The report adds that the Jets are "looking to add 2020 draft capital with an eye on quickly improving their roster."

Any trade would have to be completed soon, as the NFL's trade deadline arrives at 4 p.m. ET on October 29.

Anderson has had an inconsistent campaign so far. He has managed 17 receptions for 266 yards and a touchdown through six games, but those numbers might be higher if Luke Falk hadn't had to come in to deputize for Darnold. Anderson has led the Jets in touchdowns in each of the last two years.

The 26-year-old has spent the entirety of his career with the Jets and is originally from Fair Lawn, New Jersey. That being said, Anderson is set to become an unrestricted free agent after this season. Trading him now would be the team's last chance to get anything in return, if they are okay with eventually letting him walk.
