The 2019 season has been an up-and-down campaign for the Mets.

After jumping out to a fast 6-2 start, New York hit a rough patch, going 14-23 over the team's next 37 games.

The Mets hit a low point after getting swept by the Marlins last month, a series that put manager Mickey Callaway's future with the club in jeopardy.

However, the team has seemingly righted the ship, as New York has won 12 of its last 20 games.

Mets broadcaster Keith Hernandez joined "Mike's On" Monday to discuss the team's season and Callaway's status with the Mets.

"My feeling is that the team likes him very much and likes playing for him, and that's a good thing for Mickey" the former Met said about the team's manager. "He's under siege, there's no question. He went through a period where the sharks were circling. But he's held up. The team has hung around. If they can just get their act together on the road...

"The road has just killed them. But then again, like I said, they have a lot of young players, playing on the road, they will learn to thrive on the road. They have a good foundation on this ball club."
