On Wednesday, Moose and Maggie's Mystery Guest sponsored by Jersey Mike's brought a taste of Chi-Town to the 1 p.m. hour on WFAN.
Today's Mystery Guest was a female, which delighted Maggie, and after asking where the guest was, what she does, and what teams she covers, Maggie incorrectly guessed PIX 11's Andy Adler. Moose was set to ask another question, but when the guest laughed, Maggie jumped in and identified her as…
Sarah Kustok!
Yes, it was YES Network's Brooklyn Nets analyst (and Chicago native) Sarah Kustok who joined Moose and Maggie to kick off their final hour, kicking off her visit with a look at how her quarantine began while she was on the road to cover a Nets-Warriors game that never happened.
"I'm on the lower west side of Manhattan, and when the season was suspended, we were in San Francisco," Kustok said. "We were flown home the next morning, and because some players tested positive, we were asked to quarantine for two weeks. Having to do that, it was fine being in, and since then, it's been okay."
Of course, Kustok covered all things Brooklyn Nets and NBA restart during her time with Moose & Maggie, and brought to light a silver lining in all of the chaos surrounding the team's injuries and COVID-19 related losses for the NBA's resumption.
"We knew Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant wouldn't come back, but to be without DeAndre Jordan, Spencer Diwniddie, Wilson Chandler, Nic Claxton, and now Taurean Prince…thee challenging part is that you're pretty much left with Caris LeVert and Joe Harris as rotation players," Kustok said, "but it's an opportunity to see some younger guys who have been with the organization to get some playing time. So, it's an evaluation period in more ways than one."
Check out Sarah Kustok's whole segment below, and, as always you can check out more on-demand audio from Moose & Maggie, or tune in every day to the WFAN.com livestream of the show!
