Hour 1: We started with the Knicks start to the season. Boomer also reached out to Michael Wilbon as they have a professional relationship that goes back since Boomer was at Maryland. He said Wilbon thinks he could be back in a month. The elections are over so the spam calls and texts should end. Jerry is here for his first update of the day, but first Gio said Robbie from Bob Does Sports texted Gio last night about the Jerry ‘Prius’ video. We heard audio of the Carton Show calling AL explaining his challenge for ‘The Outdoor Games’. We heard from new Ravens QB Joe Fagnano on how to actually pronounce his name. Boomer said if the Ravens beat the Jags then the NFL really is week to week. Pat Murphy said he talked to Brian Cashman after his comments about ‘these Yankees’. The Rangers beat the Blues, 3-1. In the final segment of the hour, we talked more about Pat Murphy calling Brian Cashman to explain his Yankees comments that were caught on camera after winning the World Series. Jazz Chisholm will not be coming back to the Yanks.
Hour 2: Russell Wilson is interviewing for the NC State head coaching job. Philip Rivers also interviewed for the job as both are former NC State quarterbacks. Gio doesn’t see him connecting with players as he never really connected with his own teammates. He’d be better as a GM of a team instead of a head coach. Boomer sees Rivers as a much better fit. We also talked about our favorite female accent. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Ravens QB Tyler Huntley being out for the year. Joe Fagnano talked about being the starting QB for tomorrow night and what looks like going forward now. Vic Fangio talked about the Giants impressive offense. Sean Mannion talked about the Giants defense. Jerry Jones was on the radio in Dallas and answered critics who said he won’t pay top dollar for a head coach. The Winnipeg Jets scored 4 goals in the third with 3 minutes to go and one in OT to beat Montreal, 5-4. In the final segment of the hour, the Islanders sent a fish sticks jersey with Gio’s last name AND Boomer’s last name.
Hour 3: The Bills released CJ Gardner-Johnson for his spitting incident. Boomer thought he gave a legitimate apology. Dan in Carteret calls in and wants Gio to go with him to the Devils/Islanders game in Long Island. A 71 year old woman called in and said she would go to the game with Dan. Jerry returns for an update and starts with Jerry Jones and the Cowboys and who’s to blame for the way they are playing. We heard from QB Joe Fagnano, who will get the start for the Ravens tomorrow night. Tom Brady talks about returning to Foxborough as a broadcaster this Sunday. Pat Murphy said he felt horrible for slandering the Yankees after the World Series win. The Rangers beat the Blues at the Garden. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer interviewed former Met and Broadway star Jose Iglesias for his Game Time show.
Hour 4: Phil Simms joins us in his usual Wednesday spot and of course we started with the Giants and potential players they could get before the trade deadline. Phil told us who he thought was the best team in football (they are in the NFC). We also asked Phil about the Troy Aikman/Joe Buck situation right now. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and we start with new Ravens QB Joe Fagnano on how he’s preparing for his first start in a short week. Mike Brown talked about the Knicks taking shots that are not going in at the moment and how the Knicks are the hunted right now. Pat Murphy said he spoke to Brian Cashman about his comments about the Yankees after winning the World Series. The Moment of The Day: Would you know actor Blair Underwood if you saw a pic of him?
