Chicago's culinary scene is known for its steakhouses, deep-dish pizza joints, and unique hot dogs, and maybe for the Old Style you can crush inside the friendly confines of Wrigley Field.
Unless you're Gio, whose biggest memory of Chi-town eats came from a Bears game he attended where a friend of The Booms introduced him to "sandwich roulette."
"My lasting memory from the Soldier Field game was from your friend Lee Becker," Gio said. "We were in the radio booth, and there was a cooler full of sandwiches. He asked me to grab him one, so I handed him one that was wrapped in foil. He didn't ask what was in it, or open it up to see what it was, before he decided if he was going to eat it or not, he just opened it up and took a bite."
Never before had Gio seen someone so willing cavalier with his taste buds, but he respected the game.
"As his mouth was filled with the sandwich, he looks at me and goes, 'roast beef!' Gio laughed, and Boomer responded the only way he could:
"Lee was a big man who likes to eat!"
