The stick to sports crowd has been out en masse lately on the FAN hotlines, and on Monday, caller Colleen pushed Gio over the edge with that notion – bringing out a rant that became Moment of the Day!
Colleen told Gio that no one wanted to hear about the stress in his life, because everyone has stress, and wanted more sports talk. What she got was a diatribe:
"We open up the show about sports! Jerry does four updates a show about sports! Sorry you're not exactly getting what you need all four hours a day! You don't know a damn thing about what's going on in my life!"
Boomer interrupted with a crack about a sit-down with Oprah and tried to throw to another caller, but Gio was NOT having it.
"I'm not done yet! It's offensive! 'It's sports radio' – no, it's not! If we sat here and did four hours of boring ass sports radio, nobody would listen. Maybe Colleen would be happy if we broke down the dunk contest for four hours, but we ain't doin' it! What do you want? You wanna talk about Jeff McNeil's errors for four hours? Those days are over! Go watch it on YouTube! You know who's probably got more stress than me? Colleen's husband!"
That led into a nice discussion about tequila, drinks of choice, and cigars…which was a fun listen for everyone, except for maybe Colleen.
