Jerry Recco was a hero recently, giving a co-worker the Heimlich Maneuver, and the gang had Tom, soon to be Bill Reiter's producer on CBS Sports Radio, on the air to talk about it…which went well?
"By the way, can Tom be any more awkward?" Boomer asked, to which Jerry replied: "He's probably nervous coming in here, Al just going out there and asking him to come into the studio."
Al said he gave Tom a heads up because he asked, to which Eddie responded: "The best was Al just walked outside and yelled, "TOM!" and hoped somebody responded!"
Mr. Dukes has seen Tom every day for years but never really met him…but thankfully, Jerry was there to be the hero, even if Jerry is the last one who would want the accolades.
And then, it was time for one last dig at the purse strings held by our outgoing esteemed boss Mark Chernoff, courtesy of ALL the guys.
"Next time just let him go, we have a budget! New guy would be cheaper!"
