Evan surprised even himself on Sunday night, as he noticed himself rooting for the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes as they went into Buffalo and once again stunned the Bills in a playoff bout.
Like the Russian crowd in Rocky IV, Evan found himself pulling for the team he expected to hate. But he has done a 180 and has embraced the team that many are tired of seeing play in conference championship games and Super Bowls.
“I loved it. I love these evil bastards,” Evan said. “I like the Kansas City Chiefs. I found myself rooting passionately for them.
“I don’t want to see the Lions win. I don’t want to see their fans happy…I want to see losers remain losers. If I’m a loser, I want everyone to remain a loser…when a team that always wins is winning, it doesn’t bother you as much…I appreciate that they told all the naysayers, ‘You don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.’”
Evan has found himself embracing all parts of the Chiefs, even off the field.
“The Taylor Swift thing has backfired. I’m laughing at how annoyed you guys are for being annoyed at Taylor Swift,” Evan said. “What is she really doing? She’s sitting in a suite.”
