D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Justin Tuck Among First-Timers in Preliminary Football Hall of Fame Pool

Former Jets tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson and ex-Giants pass rusher Justin Tuck are among the 14 first-time eligible players selected for the preliminary pool of 130 candidates for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2021.

Peyton Manning, Calvin Johnson, Jared Allen, and former Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson are also part of the rookie class within the list of 130, which will be pared down to 25 semifinalists in November and 15 finalists in January before the Class of 2021 is elected on Super Bowl weekend.

Ferguson and Tuck are also two of the 16 former Meadowlands residents in the pool, which also includes: running back Tiki Barber; wide receiver Derrick Mason; tight end Jeremy Shockey; offensive linemen Lomas Brown, Alan Faneca, and Chris Snee; defensive lineman John Abraham; defensive back James Hasty; kicker Nick Lowery; punters Jeff Feagles, Sean Landeta, and Matt Turk; and return men Josh Cribbs and Brian Mitchell, who are listed as "special teamers."

Center Kent Hull, who wasn't a Giant or Jet but did play for the USFL's New Jersey Generals, is also a finalist, as is Tiki's twin brother, Ronde Barber. The full list is available on profootballhof.com.
