Boomer imagined a scenario where the Giants land the No. 1 pick to take Caleb Williams in next year’s draft, but Gio, along with many Giants fans, including Caz, can’t see Big Blue only winning one or two more games the rest of the season to secure that top pick.
Boomer believes it’s not too outlandish to imagine, especially with the way the Giants have looked so far this season.
“You saw the Raiders [Monday] night,” Boomer said. “The Raiders are a better team than the Giants. You think the Jets are better than the Giants? What about the Commanders? That defensive line versus that offensive line? There’s their next four games, including the Bills. Then they’re at the Cowboys. Who knows where they’re gonna be at that point?
“Caz, you just told me you have the worst offensive line, [Saquon] Barkley doesn’t want to play because he doesn’t want to get hurt, and you’re telling me the Giants will win more than three games?”
While Gio agrees that the Giants currently look like the worst team in the NFL, he doesn’t see the season ending that way.
However, in the here and now, it’s hard to argue with Boomer.
“I still find it hard to believe the Giants are gonna end up with two or three wins,” Gio said. “But who the hell knows. You look at their schedule, they are worse than all the teams on their schedule. It’s not like you can look at a game and say ‘Oh, that’s a win.’”
