Boomer and Gio continued their talk about Saquon Barkley’s future on Tuesday morning, and Boomer brought up a potential destination that is certain to leave Giants fans sick to their stomachs.
“I would love to see Saquon Barkley in a Cowboy uniform,” Boomer said. “They’re not bringing back Tony Pollard.”
Boomer has maintained that Barkley should look to go somewhere that gives him a chance to win after being stuck in a struggling Big Blue offense for years, and while Gio agrees that Barkley will be prioritizing winning at this stage of his career, could he really go to the hated rival of the only team he has known as an NFL player?
“That would be great for the Cowboys, for sure, especially in that offense. My goodness,” Gio said. “That would be something else. Could he really do that though? I know he loves the Giants and being a Giant. That would be some petty - that would be something else.
“Saquon wants to win. I think he wants to go to a place where he has a shot next year.”
The Cowboys would check that box, as they finished the regular season as one of the top teams in football last season. Still, the sight of Barkley with a star on his helmet would be nauseating for Giants fans.
