As the NFL goes through several head coaching and front office changes across the league, Boomer wants to know why a former Giants GM is still not back in a front office.
Jerry Reese, Giants general manager from 2007 to 2017, was the architect behind the last run of greatness for Big Blue, but hasn’t had a GM job since being fired by New York after a 3-13 season in 2017. Boomer doesn’t know why he hasn’t gotten another shot.
“Why doesn’t he get another chance? Did he not build two Super Bowl teams?” Boomer said. “He brought in Antonio Pierce. If you’re Antonio Pierce [with the Raiders], that guy would be the first guy I call, assuming they have a good relationship…He won two Super Bowls as a GM.”
Reese interviewed with the Jaguars back in 2020, but it didn’t culminate in a job offer. He also reportedly interviewed for the Cardinals job earlier this month. So the wait continues, and Boomer wonders why it is taking so long.
