The Giants have hired Shane Bowens as their new defensive coordinator, and C-Mac is just relieved the hiring was made so the discord around the team’s struggles to fill the staff can be put behind them.
There were rumblings of issues between members of the coaching staff and Brian Daboll, and now that the coaching staff is nearly set, C-Mac says it is time for Daboll to show stability, because if he doesn’t, he could be on his way out.
“They fired their special teams coordinator, obviously the dysfunction that went in with losing Wink Martindale,” C-Mac said. “They couldn’t afford to hire a brand new coaching staff heading into a year that’s pretty much make or break for Brian Daboll. He’s pretty much on the hot seat.
“They need to put this behind them. Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll need to put this dysfunction behind them…there is just as much dysfunction going on with the New York Giants as anyone.”
